How to achieve a safe and sustainable return to school?

The month of September has arrived and with it the return to routine. September comes hand in hand with a new school year, the second in pandemic conditions. This will be a completely face-to-face course in all educational stages, so the centers must be ready for the return of the students after the summer holidays.

Course 21-22 begins with a mix of vaccinated/non vaccinated people , so the objective of the centers is to guarantee a safe school environment avoiding possible outbreaks as much as possible by implementing and monitoring the protocols and preventive measures implemented: physical distance, permanent ventilation, use of a mask, hand hygiene measures and surface hygiene measures.

We all know that hand hygiene is a very effective measure to prevent the transmission of diseases. It is part of the educational program so the correct method of doing it is taught in the classrooms and is one of the standards of conduct of the centers.

In the educational field, it is recommended to wash hands with a cosmetic gel a minimum of 5 times a day: entering and leaving the center, before and after the patio, before and after eating and after going to the bathroom.

In the case of coming into contact with a pathogen or it is necessary to disinfect the hands (eliminate microorganisms). To do this, you must use an antiseptic gel or lotion that is capable of eliminating the pathogen (Covid).

You can check our range of antiseptics and cosmetic gels with and without rinsing here.

We must also ensure that mass-use surfaces and common-use spaces such as toilets, changing rooms, offices, etc. are clean and free of microorganisms. To do this, the cleaning service must use surface disinfectants with virucidal effectiveness.

Can we comply with the protocols, guarantee that our centers are safe and at the same time be sustainable with the environment?

Above all, we must be clear that sustainable cleaning and disinfection is not only cleaning with cleaning products with the Ecolabel certification.

In the first place, because we do not have all the necessary products with an Ecolabel certification, for example, there are no hand antiseptics or Ecolabel surface disinfectants.

Secondly, because for a product to be 100% ecological throughout its life cycle, it must be manufactured and used properly.

To implement an ecological and sustainable cleaning and disinfection protocol we must respect the balance between the needs of our educational center and our environment, taking into account the entire useful life of the product from its design, manufacture and transport to its use and disposal, closing the circle.

What requirements must be fulfilled?

Happy back to school!
