Safe Laundry program 40

The pieces of clothing that Laundries receive have as their origin a human collective: hospitals, hotels, tourist apartments, rest homes, schools, gyms, restaurants, etc. As these are reusable items, when subjected to washing, these garments must be free of pathogenic microorganisms. This should be a common requirement for all textiles, regardless of their origin.

To break the disease transmission chain, the washing process requires adequate temperatures and times as well as the correct dosage of chemicals that ensure proper sanitization of textiles.

We refer to textile disinfection as the action of reducing the number of microorganisms present in a fabric using chemical agents and / or physical methods to a level where they do not compromise its safety.

Without proper disinfection, the growth of microorganisms under optimal conditions of temperature, humidity and nutrients is exponential.

Dirt and germs form a binomial that goes hand in hand, so we can say that the more dirt, the more contamination and the more dirt removal, the greater the disinfection.

The Centers for Disease Control (CDC) recommend a thermal disinfection at a wash temperature of at least 71ºC for a minimum of 25 minutes. (Background G. Laundry and Bedding. Guidelines for Environmental infection Control in Health-Care Facilities. CDC) and add a chlorine bleach such as our LAVICOM BCL PLUS to obtain an extra level of disinfection whenever there is a residual chlorine concentration between 50 and 150 ppm.

However, when the technical characteristics of the textiles do not allow washing at high temperatures, oxidizing chemical agents with a disinfectant effect against a wide spectrum of microorganisms at low temperatures can be used.

Our R + D + i laboratory, together with the Technical Department, has developed a low temperature washing program with proven disinfectant and cleaning efficacy, SAFE LAUNDRY PROGRAM 40. It consists of the combination of a washing temperature of 40ºC and the addition of a detergent, an enzyme additive, and an oxygen bleach.

We have created a washing program with maximum cleaning and disinfectant efficiency that respects the colour and characteristics of textiles. If you want to know more, our sales team will be happy to assist you!

IMPACT OF BIOFILMS IN THE FOOD INDUSTRY

Since the development of microbiology, researchers have studied micro-organisms present in nature either directly from nature or artificially in the laboratory, but they have always been studied in isolation: study micro-organism plus a culture medium. It is known that, in reality, microorganisms live in the natural environment in the form of biofilm. In this article […]
