How to fine-tune textile surfaces for the reopening of the season?

Finally, the long-awaited season begins and it is necessary to fine-tune the facilities before the imminent arrival of customers. The choice of the team of chambermaids; training of personnel on occupational hazards and safe use of chemical products; planning tasks and carrying out thorough cleaning are essential before the opening of establishments.

What are deep cleanings?

They are those cleaning tasks prior to the opening of the hotel. Impossible tasks to perform when the establishment is busy or open to the public. Some examples are:

  • Furniture movement: cleaning of spaces and corners.
  • Cleaning of curtains
  • Renovation of mattress covers, pillowcases
  • Floors polishment
  • Cleaning carpets, rugs and upholstery.

What should we take into account when cleaning carpets, rugs and upholstery?

First of all, we must take into account the fibers composition and the fastness of the color, since, depending on their chemical composition, textiles have greater or lesser resistance to dirt and cleaning products.

  • Natural fiber of animal origin: wool, leather, silk.
  • Natural fibers of vegetable origin such as hemp, cotton, linen, bamboo: they are very beautiful but very delicate textiles.
  • Synthetic fibers such as polypropylene or polyamide or nylon. Synthetic fiber textiles are very resistant to dirt and cleaning products, they are considered the most durable on the market.

In any case, it is important to carry out a cleaning test in an invisible corner or space to check the resistance of the fabric to the washing process.

Thorough cleaning of carpets and rugs

To achieve a textile thorough cleaning we need the textile to be very wet so that the detergent solution penetrates inside the fibers and manages to emulsify the dirt and drag it to the outside. For this, it is necessary to use a detergent with a high wetting capacity and a machine that injects the detergent solution and removes the dirt.

The process is:

  • Vacuum dry with an ultra-silent vacuum cleaner PROMINI 100P
  • Prepare the AQUAGEN SX detergent solution at the recommended dosage and introduce it into the PROMAX 800CM2 injection / extraction machine.
  • Clean the carpet and / or carpet moving forward and backward with the machine in sections.
  • Let it dry
  • Once the carpet or rug is dry, vacuum against the grain to make it more fluffy.

Upholstery, carpet and carpet maintenance

Cleaning the upholstery of chairs, armchairs, cushions, etc. It is a difficult task to machine so it is done manually.

First you have to check if the covers are removable to wash them in the laundry service; or we must perform the cleaning in place manually with dry foam.

The procedure for manual cleaning is the following:

  • Vacuum dry with an ultra-silent vacuum cleaner PROMINI 100P
  • Prepare the AQUAGEN TMC foam solution for textiles according to the dosage recommended in the technical sheet.
  • Apply the foam with a sponge, brush or cloth in areas.
  • Let it dry until the foam is in powder form.
  • Vacuum the entire surface.

In any case, if the textiles have stains such as vomit, food, gum, wine, etc. we must remove them with a specific product before the cleaning process: SOLUGEN ANTIGUM in the case of chewing gum or the STAIN OFF range for grease, ink, rust, blood, egg and sauce stains.

Happy return to true normality!
